Student Association for Robotics Advancement:
Director of Public Relations, Board of Directors
My work with the Student Association for Robotics Advancement (SARA) has been a crash course in advocacy, community-building, and servant leadership. I’ve logged 150+ volunteer hours organizing robotics outreach events, mentoring younger students, and helping run competitions. As part of SARA’s advocacy efforts, I’ve met with local legislators and education leaders to push for stronger funding and access to STEM programs, sharing firsthand stories from students who benefit from robotics. Through this work, I’ve learned how to translate technical impact into human terms—building coalitions, speaking up for under-resourced schools, and turning my experience in robotics into concrete opportunities for other students.

SASA STEM Advocate
Position: Youth STEM Advocacy Leader
As a SASA STEM Advocate, I focus on expanding access to robotics by engaging directly with lawmakers. I’ve met with New Jersey congressmen and state assemblymembers to advocate at the national level for stronger support, funding, and recognition of K–12 robotics programs. In these meetings, I help translate what happens on the competition field into concrete policy asks, sharing student stories, outlining how robotics builds real engineering and leadership skills, and pushing for robotics to be treated as a core part of STEM education rather than an optional club. This role has taught me how to prepare effective talking points, navigate legislative conversations, and use my experience in robotics to influence decisions that affect students across the state.
